ATLANTA, GA -- February 1, 2021 -- The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) today announced student Shiloh D Shepherd from CAMBRIDGE, NE has been selected to become a member of the esteemed organization. The Society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community commitment. The announcement was made by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes.--

Once again, the Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Live2Lead leadership training Wednesday, February 17 from 9 am to 4 pm at the Cambridge Community Center. The group will have a 1½ hour lunch break to explore downtown.

The Cambridge School Board met in regular session on Monday, February 8, 2021. Board member Amy Sines was not present at the meeting. The agenda was amended to add an executive session for personnel discussion and then approved. Superintendent Greg Shepard gave the Treasurer’s Report and the General Fund Claims and the Building Fund Claims were both approved.

What does the Rotary Club of Cambridge do? Simply stated they help other people. Using the Rotary Motto of “Service above Self’, the Club stepped up in 2017 and donated to a huge International Rotary project and need.

The Southern Valley Board of Education met on February, 8 at 7:30. Mike Taylor was absent and all administration were present with elementary principal Mark Grove arriving later. Two teachers were also in attendance. The board went over the consent agenda. Superintendent Bryce Jorgenson said they are still behind what they could spend in the budget. The consent agenda includes the minutes of the previous meeting, committee reports the agenda and the financial/expenditure reports. The consent agenda was approved.
