The Golden Generation Center is holding an Event Gala Fundraiser event on March 20. Doors are set to open at 6:3o pm. A Prime Rib dinner will be served at 7:30p.m.. There will be seven local dancing groups performing for pride and a trophy during dining. Complete Weddings and Events will be providing music entertainment after the show for open floor dancing to the public. The doors will reopen to the public at 9 p.m. for those interested in dancing, but not dining. A silent auction will be on the west side of the Hilltop room, for guests to bid big and help the Golden Generation center fund the much needed roof repairs. Tickets for the dinner and show are 25.0o each and can be purchased at the center or with any board member. You can call (402)831-0954 or (308)824-3878 for ticket information. Tickets will not be available at the door for this event. The Long Branch Bar will be serving drinks independently throughout the night, for a fun evening. Gov. Ricketts, Ethanol Board Showcase UNL Research on Safety and Efficiency of E30 Biofuel

LINCOLN — Monday, Governor Pete Ricketts announced the results of a E30 demonstration project conducted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) with support from the State’s Department of Administrative Services (DAS). The ground-breaking research clearly demonstrates that E30, gasoline blended with 30% ethanol, is safe for long-term use in non flex fuel vehicles (FFVs). Lana Louise Kester of Oxford went to be with her Savior on March 2, 2021. She was 8o years old. Lana was born on June 8, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Dr. Howard L Kester DVM and May Louise (mayo Kester. The first few years of her life were spent in Cambridge, NE, Little Rock, AR and Silver Springs, MD. Her father was a Federal Veterinarian and in the Army. The family moved to Cambridge when the WWII ended. They moved to the family farm near Orafino in Frontier County. She attended grade school in Orafino. Then Lana moved to the Martin Luther Home in Beatrice, NE. In 1975 Lana moved to Oxford, NE where she spent the rest of her life living and working at the MidNebraska Individual Services.
