Delta Variant Identified in Southwest Nebraska
Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) was notified that the Delta COVID-19 variant has been detected in the nine-county health district. This highly contagious strain was first detected in India and has now made its way into the United States and Nebraska.

A Funeral Service for Maynard L. Falk will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wilcox Community Church in Wilcox, Nebraska with Pastors Craig Cedar and Brian Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem Cemetery, in rural Kearney County, Nebraska, near Axtell, Nebraska.

Leon E. Wright, age 78, of Indianola, NE, passed away at his home surrounded by family on June 23, 2021. He was born in Dodge City, KS on June 12, 1943, to James and Jessie (Schofield) Wright. The family moved to St. Francis, KS where Leon attended School.
