The Cambridge Lions

Body
The Cambridge Lions used their proceeds from a recent garage sale to purchase backpacks and stuffed 2 backpacks with the required school supplies for each grade level at Cambridge Public School. This will allow teachers to provide a backpack and supplies to students as needed throughout the school year. Accepting the backpack donation on behalf of CPS is Principal Jarod Albers with many of the Cambridge Lions. Thank you, Lions!

Oxford discusses nuisances

Body
Concerns with nuisance properties were brought up at the regular meeting of the Village of Oxford Board Trustees on the evening of Monday, August 16. Michelle Liston and Sharon Ludeke were present to discuss some issues and focused a lot on alleys in town. They asked about the responsibility of keeping alleys clear, as some have weeds growing so tall they are obstructing passage and sight as well as “junk” lying along the sides. They were told the homeowners have the responsibility to keep their lawns down and property clear. They had concerns about pests such as snakes and opossums. Board Chairman Clint McQuiston said he understands what they are saying, but there has been a manpower issue. A couple of new people have just come on to the Code Enforcement Committee. Kristi Quinn, who was also in attendance, said there may be a couple more coming on soon.
