Applefest 2021

The 2021 Applefest in Orleans on Saturday, October 2 saw good weather and nice crowds. The event boasted over 50 vendors and family friendly activities starting with the parade at 10 am. The event had the ag center, legion hall and new 4-H pavilion filled vendors along with several outside and trailer boutiques. There were also several fun activities with live music, a money pit and big wheel races.

Story time at Orleans Library

The C.B. Preston Memorial LIbrary in Orleans is offering a weekly story hour beginning in October. The story hour is every Tuesday from 10 - 11 am and is open to preschool age children. There will be games, crafts and stories.

The Red Willow County GOP hosted a “blue rock shoot “ at the McCook Gun Club on Sunday, September 26, 2021. In spite of a hot day, folks gathered to celebrate some local shooters. Several local area businesses contributed financially to the successful fund raiser. Finances will help to “inspire, educate, and activate” area Patriots to become actively involved in shaping our county, state, and country’s future. The county GOP meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at Bedore Barn/Marlene’s Kitchen, 3 miles north of McCook. All are welcome. Ag Valley Co-op partners with Land O’ Lakes Foundation and CoBank to provide a donation to Oxford Food Pantry

Ag Valley Co-op is proud to provide a donation to the Oxford Food Pantry through a partnership with Land O’Lakes Foundation and Co-Bank, This year Ag Valley Coop donated $5,000 that was matched dollar-for-dollar by Land O’Lakes Foundation and CoBank to the Oxford Food Pantry. The Lutheran Church in Oxford helped create a Crockpot Cookbook with items that the food pantry has on hand, allowing families to use the crockpot to make meals. The food pantry operates by appointment only and allows clients to choose which food items bests suit their needs.
