NHA honors Rena Farr with Caring Kind Award

The Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) recognized Nebraska member hospital employees by bestowing them with the organization’s prestigious The Caring Kind award. Among the awarded was Pharmacy Technician Rena Farr of Tri Valley Health System, Cambridge.

November is Respite Caregiver Month

National Family Caregivers Month is celebrated each November. This month is a time to recognize and honor family caregivers across the country. Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) would like to recognize those that have been a caregiver, are currently caregiving, or will be caregiving in the future. We recognize the dedication, commitment, and devotion you have when caring for your loved one or neighbor.

The Holiday Lighting Contest, sponsored by the Elwood Chamber of Commerce will be judged on the evening of Wednesday, December 8th after 7:00 p.m. within City Limits. Winners will receive 1st place: $75 in Chamber Bucks, 2nd place: $50 in Chamber Bucks; 3rd place: $25 in Chamber Bucks

The Give Big Elwood day is over and oh what a day it was for the Gosper County Senior Center. Your giving and generous support is so wonderful and so very appreciated. Thank you all who supported the many groups and clubs and activities throughout this town and county. Those are the lifeblood of living here in small town USA.

Sons of The American Legion deliver Thanksgiving baskets and cleanup highway

The Sons of The American Legion, Squadron 343, Edison, met on the evening of November 19, for the purpose of delivering Thanksgiving food baskets to 10 local veterans. The Sons of The American Legion, Squadron 343, Edison, met on the afternoon of November 20, for highway cleanup. It was a great day for the squadron (and some daughters) to help keep Nebraska beautiful. Our area is two miles of Hwy 6&34 from MM130 to MM132. The Sons of The American Legion is a program of The American Legion that is open to all male descendants of veterans of WWI and any veteran serving after December 7, 1941. The SAL supports the American Legion and its programs while honoring the American veteran. More members are needed. Please consider joining. The next scheduled meeting will be January 2022, at 8pm at the Ella Missing Center in Arapahoe.
