Joyce M. Minnick age 70 of McCook, NE passed away at the Swedish Hospital in Denver on May 6, 2022.

Clinton Olmstead (right) was presented a certificate for 60 years of service in The American Legion by Darrel Paulsen. Clinton served our country in the United States Navy from 1954 through 1962. He was involved with visual communication. He served as Signalman 2nd Class aboard U.S.S. Fort Marion LSD22, U.S.S. Oak Hill LSD7, U.S.S. San Marcus LSD25 and at home ports on both coasts. Clinton is a member of the Edison American Legion Post 343.

Ag Valley Co-op awards 24 scholarships to high school seniors

Edison, Neb., May 2, 2022 – Ag Valley Co-op Board of Directors is pleased to present $500 scholarships to high school seniors across Ag Valley Co-op’s trade territory who plan to further their education at a higher institution. General Manager, Jeff Krejdl said, “Ag Valley Co-op is pleased to present deserving high school seniors with a scholarship to help defray the cost of higher education. We congratulate you on your accomplishments and wish you best of luck in the future.”

Sunshine Village residents enjoyed a program by arapahoe exchange student

Sara Ulziisaikhan of Mongolia is the exchange student staying with the Dale and Loida Whitson family this year. She gave a presentation to the residents at Sunshine Village last week and served some common Mongolian food called buuz and melty which is dumplings and raisin juice and shared a little about her culture with them. She also brought props and shared some traditions with the group. She appreciated Ilene Collins and Virginia Cookson for letting her present a program to them as it is a requirement for the exchange program. (Below) Some of the students from Arapahoe came to help her serve the food.

Thank you-two small words but the meaning and appreciation and gratitude we feel goes way beyond these words to the firemen, first responders, family, friends, neighbors, the wildfire teams and many people we didn’t even know. We can’t thank you enough. For the out pouring of love and prayers, for the hay, donations, food supplies, fundraising people, we can never thank you enough.
