Waited 2 years to celebrate their 70th, 71st and 72nd class reunions

Body
The Arapahoe High School Class of 1950 has earned a reputation for remaining friends over the years and had enjoyed many reunions, so when 2020 approached, plans for a big one---the 70 --- naturally were in the mill. But world events early that year changed lots of plans and this was one of them. In introducing the members present at the banquet, one of its members, John Lewis of West Des Moines, IA, commented that, “Something funny happened on the way to the Alumni Banquet. The Class of 1950 was doing all right. We had made it through the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, WWII, the Polio Epidemics, and a whole bunch of other things, including some really great class reunions---we were ready--- then the darned Covid aced us out, so we just figured we’d wait a year and what do you know, the same thing happened again. So here we are, trying to celebrate the 70 and it’s time for the 72 .” Thirteen of the 39 members of the class are still living, with six of those present that evening, and are shown in the photo. They are, front row (l-r) Donna Breinig McCoy, Delores Breinig Fisher, and Lyle Breinig, all of Arapahoe. Back row, left to right, John Lewis, West Des Moines, LaRee Harman Silver, Funk, NE, and Donald Purvis, San Diego, CA.

Moving Hospital Beds to former Coast to Coast Building

Body
Ag Valley wanted to clear out all nursing home supplies on Friday so they enlisted the help of Republican Valley Golden Years Foundation. They said they could find a place for the hospital beds and miscellaneous supplies. There were 13 hospital beds so they asked the High School Weight Lifting team if they could help move them to the former Coast to Coast Building. Under the direction of John Strand and Dustin Kronhofman, they got the job done. If you are in need of a bed or other supplies, contact Matt Faw, Eric Lee or Heidi Thomas in Arapahoe.
