Sunshine Village pot luck was held on Monday with 10 residents and guest April Wendland. Hostesses were Ilene Collins and Virginia Cookson with an Autumn theme. There are three birthdays this month: Karla Parks, Norma Sinner and Nancy Montano. They had a delicious dinner and it was enjoyed by all. Bingo will be held August 20th and the next pot luck will be September 5th with Bev Brown and Virginia Cookson hosting. The program Monday was given by Ilene Collins and it was about the Autumn season and back to school.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors. The staff will continue to make your visit here, either while participating in the activities or eating our noon meal, as positive and enjoyable as can be. Thanks for your support.

Elwood Public Schools lunch program offers free or reduced prices

Children need healthy meals to learn. Elwood Public School offers healthy meals every school day. Breakfast costs K-12th, $2.25; lunch costs K-6th 3.25, 7th-12th $3.50. Your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals. Reduced price is $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch. Please contact the school for a lunch packet if you believe your may qualify for free or reduced meals.
