Casie Helms, Arapahoe-Holbrook Public School Backpack Program Director, accepts a $1500 donation on November 9, 2022, from Mark Stagemeyer, Jared Shafer, Paige Hyke, and Laura Frink of MNB Insurance Services, Inc., and from Kate Warner of MNB Realty to go towards the school’s Backpack Program. Children signed up for the Backpack Program are provided with nutritious and easy-to-prepare food and snacks when other resources may not be available, such as weekends and school vacations.

Aksarben 2022 Heartland Escort, Jackson Koller

Jackson R. Koller, formerly of Arapahoe, participated in the 127th Aksarben Ball on October 29 as a 2022 Heartland Escort. He is a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in Communication Studies. He is the son of John and Denise Koller of Arapahoe. Annually the Aksarben Ball honors families who have gone above and beyond making a difference across the Heartland while raising funds for the Aksarben Foundation Scholarship Program. Jackson’s brother John A. Koller was a Heartland Escort in the 2019 Aksarben Ball.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors. The staff will continue to make your visit here, either while participating in the activities or eating our noon meal, as positive and enjoyable as can be. Thanks for your support.

Nov. 10, 2022, Cambridge Unit 199 of the American Legion Auxiliary met in regular session in the community building with 10 members present. Pres. Witte called the meeting to order at 1:20 p.m., after our Veterans Day luncheon with the Legion members at 12:00 noon.
American Legion Auxiliary members make snowmen tray favors for residents of the Kearney Veterans Home.
