Oxford Board reorganizes

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees reorganized during their regular meeting on Monday, December 5. Trustees re-elected to the board were sworn in. This included Chad Cunningham, Mike Minarik and Scott Hamilton. Current Chairman Clint McQuiston then opened up nominations for new Chairman. Minarik was nominated by McQuiston and was unanimously approved. Nominations for Vice-Chairman were split between Scott Hamilton and Clint McQuiston. Minarik nominated McQuiston and Keithen Hamilton nominated Scott Hamilton. Minarik stated his reason as having McQuiston be of assistance until he resigns his position on the board and then having a new full board available to vote on the new vice-chair.

The weatherman was right about one thing. The snow we got wasn’t of a significant amount. My patio had an inch, almost. Even an inch won’t be turned down. The weatherman was also right that Friday afternoon was going to be windy. There may have been more wind in other places, but it really wasn’t all that bad and didn’t last long here on The Hill. I had taken in my Nativity figures so now I’m waiting for a nice day to put them back out.

Olivia Leising participated in A Capella Nebraska Music Education Association Conference SEWARD, NE (12/06/2022)-- Olivia Leising from Arapahoe participated in the A Capella Nebraska Music Education Association conference on Nov. 18, at St. Paul Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. The choir performed a half-hour set, “The Emerald Isle: Inspirations of Ireland” to music educators and attendees of the conference.

Southern Valley girls split with Minden, Elm Creek

ELM CREEK - After a first-half lead got away from the Southern Valley girls in an opening night loss to Minden, the Eagles rebounded by throttling Elm Creek to open the season 1-1. Southern Valley jumped all over the Buffaloes Friday, outscoring them 23-6 in the opening quarter, then 25-13 in the second to take a commanding 48-19 lead to halftime.
