ALMA - In the third meeting between the Arapahoe and Southwest boys basketball teams, the Warriors pulled out their third win in three tries against the Roughriders, advancing to the RPAC quarterfinals with a 56-34 triumph in Saturday’s first round at Alma. Southwest started hot from the field and grabbed an early 12-6 lead in the first quarter, but Arapahoe warmed from there and got the better of the transition play as the Warriors moved in front and held the lead at halftime, 30-20.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors. The staff will continue to make your visit here, either while participating in the activities or eating our noon meal, as positive and enjoyable as can be. Thanks for your support. If you would like to join us for a noon meal please call the Center by 9:30 am. The noon meal is available for you at 12:00 p.m. and you can come and walk through. We are offering folks the opportunity to have a carry out meal if they so desire. ALMA - A dreadful first half proved costly for the Southern Valley boys basketball team as they dropped their RPAC Tournament opener to Bertrand Saturday in Alma. The Eagles fell into a 35-10 hole late in the second quarter, then outscored the Vikings the rest of the way, but fell 61-42.

Trojans survive scare from Medicine Valley

ALMA - The Cambridge boys basketball team continued its recent win streak, but had to fight to survive a first-round scare from seventh-seeded Medicine Valley Saturday, 43-39. The Raiders led by four at half, but Cambridge dominated the third quarter, 17-1, to move in front by 11, 34-23, going to the fourth.
