MAXWELL - With a pair fo dominant wins last week, the Cambrigde girls basketball team extended its win streak to four and improved to 8-5 this season. The Trojans coasted past Sutherland Friday, leading by as many as 22 en route to a 47-27 victory.
The Southern Valley girls hit the road for a pair of battles against upper-class teams, but it couldn’t slow the Eagles’ recent roll as they captured victories at Chase County and at Holdrege to improve to 10-2 this season.
MAXWELL - Needing a pair of wins to secure the second seed in the East for the upcoming RPAC Basketball Tournament, the Cambridge boys basketball team rolled past Sutherland and then hung on for a victory at Maxwell to move back over .500 for the first time since opening weekend.
HOLDREGE - After sttringing together fourstraight wins to climb back over .500, the Southern Valley boys basketball team dropped a pair of road contests last week to Chase County and Holdrege, dropping to 5-6 this season.
GIBBON - Tow of the five Southern Valley wrestlers reached the finals and Cole Broeker led the Eagles with an individual title at the Bill Foster Invite in Gibbon. Braxton Hammond finished runner-up for the Eagles at 113.
DUNNING - The Cambridge wrestling team is consistent. With another runnerup finish at the Sandhills/ Thedford Invite Saturday, the Trojans have now finished runner-up at each tournament they’ve competed at this season.
IMPERIAL - With individual champion Tyler Ellis, the Southwest wrestling team scored 57 points and finished 11th despite only four wrestlers at the Chase County Invite.
