ALMA - For better than three quarters Thursday night, second-seeded Arapahoe was checking all the boxes to pull off an upset of top-seeded Alma and claim the Subdistrict D1-10 Championship. The Warriors, which had lost to Alma 59-39 two weeks earlier, jumped out to an early lead, battled on the boards, limited turnovers and answered each and every run the Cardinals made.

HAYES CENTER - In the Subdistrict D1-11 Championship Thursday, top-seeded Maywood-Hayes Center flexed its muscle and threatened to run second-seeded Cambridge off the floor early. The Wolves, who had defeated the Trojans 63-32 in late December, jumped out to a 16-7 lead after a quarter and stretched the lead to 11 early in the second.

BENKELMAN - Three local boys basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end this week at the Subdistrict D111 Tournament. Monday, the fourth time was the charm for fifth-seeded Southwest against fourth-seeded Arapahoe.

NORFOLK, Neb. - Northeast Community College in Norfolk has released the Honor List and Deans’ Honor List Students named to the Deans’ Honor List must have earned a grade point average of 3.75 or above and be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours. Two-hundred-fifty-five students were also named to the Deans’ Honor List.
