Recently, the Oxford Fire Department held its monthly department drill at Center Fire Station, focusing on water supply operations. Because many areas of town do not have hydrants, firefighters must be prepared to transport water to fire scenes. This training was divided into three stations, each targeting a key part of the process. Crews practiced filling tankers from the nearest available hydrant, transporting water to a portable pond, and then drafting that water to supply an engine or ladder truck
