Shedding light on suicide in seniors

Body
Tri-Valley Health’s Senior Life Solutions is a program designed to meet the unique needs of individuals typically 65 and older, experiencing depression or anxiety related to life changes often associated with aging. Amy Shaner and director Dora Schaffert are working to get the word out about the program in the month of September. September is suicide awareness month and they see it as a good time to educate and spread the word about services available. They work for Psychiatric Medical Care, or PMC, which is only available in critical access hospitals in rural areas. Their therapist for PMC is Danielle Elliot.
