Lebanon News

Body
We’ve had some nice moisture since I last created a Lebanon News column. The area received a nice general soaking rain a couple weeks ago that put everything to bed in good shape for the winter. It was perfect for the wheat, which looks great now, the wheat stubble that will go to corn, milo and beans next spring, the pastures, the lawns. Then today, Monday, The Hill received another half inch of a nice soaking rain. It’s all good for everything except the corn that’s still standing. And there’s lots less of that now than there was just as few days ago. The ground dried enough so the combines could roll. The corn moisture has remained higher than everyone would like, but most everyone is picking anyway. Most all yield reports are coming in quite good, better than expected considering the dry spells we have had. The Danbury Coop is getting quite a pile on the ground and the Bartley facility has two bunkers covered, a milo bunker mostly full and more corn going on the ground.
