MHC boys, girls take wins at Paxton

PAXTON - In the first night of a holiday triangular, the Maywood-Hayes Center boys and girls basketball teams both emerged victorious over hosting Paxton Saturday. The girls ended a hardfought victory with an exclamation point, blowing Paxton away in the fourth quarter of a 56-31 victory, their seventh of the season.

Southwest medals six, finishes fourth at North Platte Invite

NORTH PLATTE Coming off the holiday moratorium, the Southwest girls wrestling team returnd to its early season successes with a fourth-place finish at the North Platte Invite Saturday. The Roughriders’ Rylan and Ambie Custard both remained undefated with championship finishes at 115 pounds and 130 pounds, respectively.

CAMBRIDGE - The first baby born at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in 2025 will be the lucky winner of many gifts from local merchants. This will be the sixtyfi fth baby to claim “The First Baby of the Year” title at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
