Cambridge grad Ebbers wins Outstanding Young Journalist award

KEARNEY - Journalism matters a great deal to Jenna Ebbers, a 2019 Cambridge High School graduate that now writes at the Lincoln Journal Star. Over the past decade since she was a sophomore in high school - Ebbers has worked tirelessly at her craft, writing first for Cambridge High School’s “Trojan Tribune,” the Cambridge Clarion and The Valley Voice, the Omaha World-Herald and the Journal Star, not to mention stories that have been picked up and published in papers across the country.

SEWARD, NE (04/29/2025)-- Over 60 students, including Autumn Deterding of Cambridge, NE presented at the 14th annual Academic and Research Symposium at Concordia Nebraska on April 28, 2025. The event, which takes place in the Dunklau Center for Math, Science and Business, includes both poster and oral presentations throughout the late afternoon and evening.

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) will be offering Vaccines for Children at public clinics in May. Anyone two months of age and older are invited to get their vaccinations. Measles is still actively spreading in the United States, with more than 884 cases as of April 24, 2025.

The Arapahoe fourth graders helped plant a tree in the Arapahoe South Park. The Arbor Day event was sponsored by the Arapahoe Library Foundation and Ag Valley. The students participated in tree activities and learned more about J. Sterling Morton and Arbor Lodge from George Probasco.

Harlan County Health System partners with foot and ankle specialist

Harlan County Health System is proud to announce a new partnership with Dr. Russell Carlston, an experienced and highly skilled specialist in foot and ankle disorders. Dr. Carlston and his team take a stepwise approach to care, ensuring every patient receives the highest level of treatment. A Colorado native, Dr. Carlston attended the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. He then attended Barry University in Miami, FL, where he earned a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. He went on to complete a threeyear residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with the added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, TX. While in residency, he gained comprehensive training in forefoot, midfoot, and rearfoot surgery, trauma, wound care, diabetic foot care, and reconstructive surgery.
