Fischer announces staff local office hours in Furnas and Gosper Counties

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (RNeb.) announced recently that her staff will hold local office hours for constituents in Furnas and Gosper Counties on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. These office hours serve as a convenient opportunity for constituents to speak in person directly with Senator Fischer’s staff to receive help with casework and other issues at the federal level.

Furnas County 4-H Carnival is this Saturday, April 12th in Arapahoe

The Furnas County 4-H Council and Furnas County 4-H Clubs are excited to present the 2025 4-H Carnival to be held Saturday, April 12th beginning at 7:00 pm at the Ella Missing Center in Arapahoe. Come on out and enjoy some homemade cake and ice cream, play games, and win prizes! There will be lots of door prizes donated by area businesses so be sure to purchase tickets from a Furnas County 4-H’er!

NCTA Shoot and Swing Tournament

The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Shoot and Swing tournament was held April 5 at the Curtis Gun Club and Arrowhead Meadows Golf Course. 15 three man teams competed in trap shooting and a golf scramble. The team of Sid Schultz, Trae Heathers, and Doug Schultz took the Overall team championship as well as team honors in trap shooting and team honors in golfing. Doug Schultz won high individual trap honors. Funds raised went to the NCTA Rodeo and Shotgun Sports Teams. Pictured are Doug Schultz, Trae Heathers, and Sid Schultz.

Cambridge City Council reports new street sweeper came in

Cambridge City Council met in a regular meeting on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. After approving the Consent Agenda, Utilities Supervisor Mike Tomlin reported the new street sweeper came in last week. He said he has also contacted KW Tree Services to check on the timeline for finishing their contract. He also reported they are trying to kill moles at the park and that Chance Westatd started work at the park today.
