On a hot and windy afternoon, local athletes from four area schools put forth a number of great early-season performances at the Southern Valley Track & Field Invite Friday.

The Cambridge Board of Education held a special meeting on Monday to hear public comment on and select a pathway for their planned building project.

Nominations are now being accepted for Curtis Citizen of the Year and Posthumous Awards, which are presented annually at the Curtis Community Center Banquet. Nomination forms can be found and turned in to the Curtis City Office throughout the month of April.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) announced $5.54 million of awards to 21 grant recipients under the Civic and Community Center Financing Fund (CCCFF). Ten communities are receiving awards for construction projects, and 11 are receiving funds for planning.

In his fourth year of participation in Humorous Prose, Arapahoe’s Lael Rathbun was determined to make finals at State speech after coming up just short of medaling at State a year ago. But during Thursday’s awards ceremony, Rathbun was floored when he found out he was a State Champion.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, March 29, the Frontier County Sheriff's Office was notified of thefts that occurred in the Village of Eustis. Upon investigation, it was determined that 3 males entered approximately 10 vehicles and a garage where they stole several items.
