The Cambridge Memorial Hospital Association Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the Cambridge Community Building in Cambridge, Nebraska. The annual meeting is open to all association members. Anyone is eligible to become a member. Dues are $10 and can be paid online at http://bit.ly/TVHSDues; in person at Tri Valley Health System; mailed to PO Box 488, Cambridge, NE 69022; or paid at the door the day of the meeting. Election of officers will occur at this meeting.

Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. All council members were present. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Open Meeting Law Announcement, the council approved the Consent Agenda, which included the City Council meeting minutes from the October 20, 2025, meeting, the claims, and the Cambridge Rescue meeting minutes from September 22, 2025.

Post 219 Oxford Legion, Sons of the Legion and Lady’s Auxillary helped start the celebration of the 250th birthday of America by handing out red, white and blue candy at Halloween.

Oxford, NE – November 3, 2025– The Village of Oxford invites all residents to attend a Town Hall Meeting scheduled for next Tuesday, November 12, at 5:30 PM at the Granada Theater in Oxford. This meeting is continuation of the Future Land Use Workshop held on September 17, where about 15 residents participated and shared valuable ideas to enhance local amenities and improve the overall quality of life in Oxford.

Sondra Jonson addresses a crowd of about 60 people gathered for the dedication of A Place for Those Who Grieve at Cambridge’s Fairview Cemetery Sunday. Sixteen members of the Osmera family were in attendance for the dedication. The Osmeras lost a mother and three children in the 1885 flash flood, who were buried in Fairview Cemetery, while the father and two children survived.

This week finally saw the demise of my garden. I picked the last of my ripe tomatoes and the green ones that looked like they would still ripen. It took a while for my tomatoes to set on and ripen, but when they did start producing, the tomatoes were really nice.

Tri Valley Health System employee Linda Lievens knows more about breast cancer than she ever wanted to. Her mother is a five-year survivor of invasive lobular carcinoma. But recently, Linda’s family was hit again— this time in a way few people expect. Her husband was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), a rare form of male breast cancer.

Dust fogs behind combines churning through milo and corn fields. The early morning dew beckons balers to wrap up sorghum and alfalfa yields. It’s no secret that water is the life source of these field crop cornucopias, evidenced by the countless number of center pivots dotting the horizon.

Elaine Cline celebrated her 103rd birthday on September 26th. She has been celebrating each day since, but a special birthday gift was a motorcycle ride to Church. Rob Clark, a church member, picked her up and delivered her in style. She enjoys each and every day, thankful for all the friends and family that have enriched her life and continue to do so.
