After an eight-year closure, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is preparing to reopen the lodge (now named the Medicine Creek C Store) at Trail 1, bringing new services and conveniences back to area lake visitors.

OMAHA - While it would sometimes rain and sometimes shine, the weather conditions couldn’t dampen the performances of local athletes at the State Track and Field Meet in Omaha last weekend. Twenty-two athletes won 18 medals at the State Meet and two teams finished in the top ten.
Medicine Valley’s Kael Garrett finished State Champion in both the 1,600 and 3,200.

The Old Allen Building to Become New Museum in Arapahoe

ARAPAHOE – After being vacant for several years, the Old Allen Building located at 403 Nebraska Avenue, is being renovated to serve as the Furnas-Gosper Museum. Located next door to the current museum, the 13,950foot structure was donated earlier this month by its owner, Bryan McCormick of Arizona.

UNK announces Dean’s list for Spring semester

KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced students who earned a place on the dean’s list for the spring 2026 semester. Students who are on the dean’s list must have completed 12 credit hours or more of classes with a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale.
