SUTHERLAND - It took little time for Cambridge to exert is dominance Friday in a lopsided victory at Sutherland. The Trojans took the ball away from Sutherland on each of the Sailors’ first two plays and scored on six of their seven first half possessions to roll away to a 57-12 victory.

SHELTON - The Arapahoe football team nabbed its first win of the season, rolling on the road past Shelton, 4214, on Friday. The Warriors ran all over the Bulldogs as Briggs Hill ran for 190 yards and three touchdowns and Ridley McDonald added 90 yards and two more scores.

RED CLOUD - The Southwest football team passed its second test of the season, running over, through and around Red Cloud Friday for a 51-20 win to improve to 2-0 this season.

CAMBRIDGE - After a week on the road that included four sweeps of league foes to start the season, the Cambridge volleyball team opened their home slate Tuesday with a triangular against North Platte St. Pat’s and Dundy County Stratton.

SOUTHERN VALLEY The Southern Valley volleyball team opened its home slate against Cozad last week, dropping a straight-sets defeat to the Lady Makers 25-18, 25-10, 25-21. Offense was the story as Cozad pounded 37 kills and hit .185 while Southern Valley managed 16 and hit -.012.

The Medicine Valley volleyball saw a variety of highs and lows Friday night at Silver Lake. The Raiders battled to a 25-27 loss in the first set, before struggling to a 6-25 loss in set two.
