$17,000 of stolen property recovered in Arapahoe
ARAPAHOE - Through collaboration with a number of other sheriffs departments, the Furnas County Sheriffs Office executed a search warrant in Arapahoe two weeks ago and recovered approximately $17,000 in stolen property.
The search warrant was executed at the residence of Kristian Rightnar at 507 Fourth Street, according to court documents, after sheriffs deputies had contacted from law enforcement in Smith County, Kansas, where the items were allegedly stolen.
Webster County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Rightnar on November 9 for driving a stolen pickup truck on HIghway 281 near the Nebraska-Kansas state line.
He has been arraigned in Webster County Court and is due for a preliminary hearing in December.
Rightnar told Webster County deputies that the truck was his grandpa’s and he had permission to use it, but court documents said Rightnar’s grandfather had been deceased for three years.
In Arapahoe, deputies recovered a number of tool boxes, acetylene torches, speakers, other motor vehicle equipment and a Hustler Mower.
Rightnar has been charged with theft of $5,000 or more, a Class HA felony.
