Arapahoe City Council voted to dissolve golf board, formed committee to monitor the golf course
The Arapahoe City Council met Tuesday, December 8, 2020 via Zoom. Mayor John E. Koller called the 7:3o p.m. meeting to order.
Jessica Fisher, CEO of Tri Valley Health System, shared the Arapahoe Clinic has recently purchased a state of the art x-ray machine. Fisher also reported there has been a great deal of progress on the exterior updates for the physical therapy building. She is very pleased with how well things are progressing. Work will continue on the inside as well.
City Superintendent, Greg Schievelbein, reported the city crew has been taking advantage of the nice weather. They have been patching cracks in the streets and trimming trees around town. The clubhouse has been winterized. Schievelbein was happy to report the leak at the water tower has been repaired. NPPD has finished the powerline upgrades as well.
City Clerk, Donna Tannahill, reported the November financials have been completed. Tannahill shared the city had recently received a downtown revitalization study grant. The council will be discussing what they would like to accomplish with this grant.
The council voted to dissolve the golf board. A committee will be formed to monitor and oversee the golf course. Individuals that have already been very active in the running of the golf course will be placed on this board.
Tannahill administered the oath of office to newly elected officials John Paulsen, Dan Kruetzer, and Troy tenBensel. Chris Middagh was elected as council president.
The city council approved Ordinance 2020-05 Sales Tax Renewal. This ordinance puts into place the new 1 ½% sales tax and describes in the ordinance itself what each 1/2% of the sales tax is used for.
After a great deal of discussion the council approved the use of emergency lights on personal vehicles. All lights will be the same style and color. These lights are to be used as a way to alert other residents this vehicle is responding to an emergency call.
With nothing further to discuss the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting for the Arapahoe City Council will be Tuesday, December 22 at 7:30 p.m.
