The kids participating in the Daybreakers walking program each morning would like to invite everyone to join them in their journey next Friday. Program director Christina Houghtelling stated that we have decided to invite the torn to the high school gym to walk alongside us and see what takes place every morning before school.

With the United States Postal Service considering closures of 3,600 post offices nationwide, the hardest hitting news came in late spring that local Post Offices in Wilsonville, would be studied for closure, along with Stockville and Danbury.

The nine lucky winners of Cambridge Chamber Bucks on Saturday included, Tyler Keyser, Logan Baker, Jeffrey Nickell, baby Kyle Eubanks, Chris Shoff, Jane Palmer, Doris Chambers, Carol Streit, and Nellie Jean Trosper.

The newest business in Cambridge, Wee Kids Day Care will be having an open house. Owner and director, Pam Kruger is excited to get the daycare up and running and feels like it will be a success.

The Republican Valley School board voted to delay any decision on a school building until the Nebraska Legislature solves the tax crises facing the state. The options being considered are building a new 7-12 grade facility at the present high school site, building a new 7-12 facility at the present elementary school site, or merging with either McCook or Cambridge.

Terry Fichtner, Laboratory Lead Technician at Cambridge Memorial Hospital was recently recognized as the 1991 Caring Kind Recipient. Terry has been employed at the hospital since 1980 and works in the lab, x-ray and EKG departments.

The need for a new ambulance used the Cambridge EMT organization is gaining momentum as needs and dollar amounts have surfaced. Tentative commitments have been made toward the purchase including the Rural Fire Board which is reportedly making a sizable donation. The cost of a new van type unit including updated equipment will be approximately $33,000.

Herb Teter of Cambridge who is a student at Kearney State College is currently the assistant sports editor for the student radio station.

Misss Shauna Zysset proudly wears the banner proclaiming her as Nebraska Charolais Queen.

Want to really get in the holiday mood? A visit to the new addition to Raburn Pharmacy should do it. This new addition has been remodeled, carpeted and new fixtures installed. A holiday atmosphere prevails with cards, candles and a gift line displayed. This is another new addition to the Cambridge shopping facilities.

Cambridge Boy Scouts operated the ball park concession stand this past summer and were able to make enough money to use some of it on the Ernest Fidler Memorial which they presented to the Butler Memorial Library. The project consists of 34 merit badge pamphlets. Presenting the memorial were Scouts Jon Bible, Bill Shoemaker, and Chas. Druse, Jr.

Dr. Allen R. Taylor has moved his dental office into his new building, which is located fir first door east of the Drs. Morgan and Gross medical clinic in Cambridge. The new quarters, located on the ground level, are much more convenient and adequate then before.
