E-free Church brings service to Cambridge
After years of discussion but the timing wasn’t quite right, in September 2020, the Evangelical Free (E-free) church in McCook expanded to open a satellite location at the Community Building in Cambridge. Given the current situation with Covid and the fact that families were already making adjustments to their church attendance, leadership decided the time was right. After the initial trial basis of three months, the church has decided to continue services into 2021.
“We had a number of families traveling from Cambridge to McCook every Sunday, so we felt as though a location in Cambridge would be beneficial,” said Pastor Jeff Donelan.
With the technology available today, the church projects a Facebook Live video stream onto a screen with a speaker.
“We are a conservative, Bible-based church; our worship services are not traditional or liturgical in style,” continued Pastor Donelan. “Our music is contemporary and we don’t have the regimented structure as some traditional churches have. We are all about making disciples. Whether someone doesn’t know who Jesus is at all and is curious, or whether they are mature in their walk and want to continue to grow in their faith, we want to help people take that next step in getting to know Jesus.
Our culture is to create relationships with one another and with God. We create an environment and culture where it is personable, enjoyable and as authentic as we can.”
The E-free church service is at 1o:45 a.m. on Sunday in Cambridge and will have a live Christmas Eve worship service at 5:3o p.m.
