Furnas County Sheriff’s Office joins national crackdown to reduce impaired driving fatalities “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” runs December 17, 2021 to January 1, 2022.
If you choose to drink and drive in Furnas County – beware. The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office is joining with law enforcement throughout the nation for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign December 17, 2021 to January 1, 2022.
The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office is able to participate in this special enforcement event though a grant that has been approved by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety. The Sheriff’s Office will receive a reimbursement up to $2,310.00 for Deputy’s wages that will occur during this special enforcement.
The strong nationwide impaired driving crackdown will include high-visibility enforcement, high-profile events, and will be supported by national paid advertising, creating a comprehensive campaign to curb impaired driving.
The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office aggressively watches for impaired drivers year-round. The Sheriff’s Office hopes to keep the roadways of Furnas County safe and free of impaired drivers.
The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone who is planning on drinking to designate a sober driver to help keep them and all members of the public safe. The general public is also urged to report any suspected impaired drivers to dispatch at 308-268-2245.
