James Ivan Moore passed away October 26, 2024 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Mc-Cook, Nebraska at the age of 88.

Jim was born March 24, 1936 to Verle and Garland (Turpin) Moore in McCook, Nebraska. He graduated from Bartley High School. On April 24, 1955 he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Mary Case at the Methodist Church in Bartley, Nebraska. To this union Vivian Mary, Timothy Charles, Jeffrey Verle and Gregory Case were born.

Jim lived a lifetime of honest, hard work, a love for Christ, family and friends and the land. He was loved by everyone he met and enjoyed spending time with people. His lap was a special place for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed watching his boys and grandchildren play sports. He was an active member and deacon at the Bartley Christian Church and served on the Bartley School Board and Bartley Rural Fire Board. Upon retirement he and Jackie enjoyed traveling together.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jacqueline; sisters, Nadina Vontz and Donna Stewart; brother, Robert Moore; granddaughter, Jennifer Moore and great-granddaughter Tatum Goodell.

Survivors include daughter, Vivian (Marlon) Berry of Grant, Nebraska; sons: Timothy (Diane) Moore of Bartley, Jeffrey (Robbin) Moore of Bartley and Greg (Heather) Moore of North Platte, Nebraska; sister, Carol Ann Kerst of Bartley; grandchildren: Jason (Vanessa) Berry, Angela (John) Goodell, Brett (Kate) Berry, Cody (Melissa) Moore, Staci (Josh) Wermers, Derek Moore, Kirby (Cody) Jensen, Kayla (Justin) Brei, Simon Moore and Rachel Moore; 21 great-grandchildren and two greatgreat- grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.

Burial in the Bartley Cemetery will follow services.

Memorials in James Moore’s memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be left at lockenour.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge.
