The Beaver Valley has had more colorful falls than this year, but there’s still lots of color to be seen. Unless the wind takes all the leaves down in the next few days, it will still make a pretty drive.

Roger McGraw has new hay bale art up. It’s at the usual place north east of Lebanon, the corner of Roads 709 and 404. Make a swing by there as you make that drive down the Valley.

Robert McBride, 96, died last Thursday. He and his wife, Velma lived and farmed for many years in the Danbury community. Rosary will be Thursday, the 28th at 7:00 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for Friday, October 29th at 10:00 at St. Catherine’s Church in Indianola. Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery with military honors.

Funeral services for Doris Ann Jones will be Monday, November 1 at 11:00 at the Assembly of God Church in McCook. Doris died Saturday, October 23rd at the age of 73. She and her husband, Russ, were long time residents in the Lebanon-Danbury community. Russ preceded her in death on September 6th, 2021. He was 78.

Area farmers are trying to keep harvest at full speed ahead but several foggy, misty days have slowed things down a bit. Yields are still coming in all over the board, some not so good and others beyond expectations. The summer rains and hail were spotted, hence lots of different yields.

Keep in mind, the Lebanon American Legion will serve a Fried Chicken Dinner on November 14th. Everyone is invited.

Also be sure to mark you calendars for November 21st for the Harvest Happenings at St. Catherine’s Church Hall. Lots of good food, prizes and auction items will be available.

Happy Birthday to Liz Haag on November 5th, Roger McGraw on the 7th, Gus Martin on the 9th and Sandra Nicholson and Betty Lou Warner on the 10th.
