Valley Voice adds new reporter

CAMBRIDGE - The Valley Voice has added a new reporter to its staff.

Guyla Mills, an Ansley native that resided in Lincoln several years before moving to Virginia in 2000 and California in 2004, made a permanent move back to Nebraska this past summer and resides in Wilsonville.

Mills majored in journalism and political science at UNL and holds a Master of Communication and the Arts from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Publisher Cody Gerlach said Mills brings a strong writing voice and experience to a staff that needs more experienced writers and reporters.

In addition to working as a writer, Guyla is the U.S. coordinator for a Christian evangelism ministry outreach to Unreached People Groups. She welcomes suggestions for feature stories and can be contacted at guylajmills@gmail.com.

Curtis Council moves forward on $3.9 million pool project

The Curtis City Council granted permission to begin fundraising for a new pool. After multiple meetings, including two public input meetings, the Curtis pool committee requested that the city council approve moving forward with option 5, an estimated $3.9 million investment.
