Warren Eldred “Wuzzy” Harper, age 8o, passed away at his home in Holbrook, Nebraska on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Wuzzy was born November 28, 1940 in Clay Center, Kansas, son of Charles Eldred “Ike” Harper and Nellie Harper.

He graduated from Old Randolph High School in 1958, later joining the US Army. He married Sherilyn Specht December 22, 1963. Wuzzy moved to Holbrook, Nebraska in the early 70’s to start his own hay and trucking business, Harper’s Hay Barn. He married Pauline (McQuiston) Schulz on August 16, 1985. During his life Harper always enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, playing cards, and had been known to gamble a time or two. Later in life he also enjoyed searching for arrowheads, puttering around in his shop making knives, and looking through boxes of pictures from Old Randolph, telling stories about each of them to anyone who was interested.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline, on November 26, 2020. He is survived by his son, Brent Harper, wife (Sandi), and granddaughter (Kolbi) of Randolph, Kansas; step-sons Matt Schulz and wife (Kari) of Holbrook, Nebraska; and Dan Schulz and granddaughter (Jadan) also of Holbrook, Nebraska.

A family Celebration of Life for Harper and Pauline will be this spring. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences and personal reflections may be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com
