Linda May (Littell) Werkmeister, 81, of Curtis, NE, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025. Born on July 17, 1943, in Maywood, NE, Linda was the cherished daughter of Ralph and Edith (Kahler) Littell.

Linda’s early education took place at Bartley School District 80, a oneroom schoolhouse where she attended through 8th grade. She then graduated from Maywood High School in 1961. Following high school, Linda pursued further education at the Grand Island School of Business. Her career began at the McCook Public Power District, followed by positions at the Co-Op in Curtis, and culminated in a dedicated 42-year tenure at the City of Curtis.

Linda had a passion for gardening, playing bridge, and treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She was known for her beautiful garden, which was always filled with vibrant flowers and vegetables. Her bridge club friends fondly remember her as a fierce competitor who always brought laughter and joy to their gatherings. Everybody that knew Linda knew that when 5 o’clock rolled around she had a Toddie in her hand.

In high school, Linda met the love of her life, Ronnie Werkmeister, and they were married on May 10, 1964. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Vickie and Bryan. Linda and Ronnie shared a love for travel and often took road trips across the country, creating countless memories along the way.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ralph and Edith; her husband, Ron Werkmeister; her sister and brother-in-law, Tiny and Bill Ruby; her brother-in-law, John Ralston; and her sisterin- law, Mary Littell. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie (JD) Harpst of Lincoln, NE; her son, Bryan Werkmeister of North Platte, NE; her grandchildren, Marika (Clint) Sedlacek, Kylie (Patrick) Skwara, Reilly Martin, and Nevaeh Martin; and her greatgrandchildren, Carter and Brody Sedlacek, and Kaden Skwara. Linda also leaves behind her brother, Dale Littell of Maywood, NE; her sisterin- law, Janie Ralston of Maywood, NE; and her brother-in-law, Troy (Lisa) Werkmeister of Maywood, NE.

Linda’s family and friends will always remember her warm smile, her generous spirit, and her unwavering love for those around her.

Visitation was held at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel; Curtis, Nebraska; Monday, March 24th, 2025, 4pm-7pm.

Services were held at First United Methodist Church in Curtis, NE. Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 at 10:30am.
