Delores Broweleit, 89 of Kearney passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Wel-life Assisted Living in Kearney, NE.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment will follow at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to New Life Church. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Delores was born March 21, 1936 to Emery and Elsie (Wright) Mc-Carty on a farm near Beaver City, NE. After graduating high school in 1954, she moved to Kearney. On February 5, 1956, Delores was united in marriage to Carl Broweleit. To this union three sons were born; Robert, James and Roger. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for over 19 years. In 2010 Delores married Benito “Benny” Torres in Kearney, NE. This union brought two families together with love and excitement.

The love of her life was her grandchildren.

She enjoyed watching them develop and find their place in life, trying to guide them in the right path. She also loved flower arranging, oil painting, music and other arts and crafts. She was active in her church and enjoyed her bible study groups and friends. She was a charter member of the Assembly of God Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Esther Flessner of Boulder, CO; sons, Robert (Connie) Broweleit of Seneca, James Broweleit of Burwell, Roger Broweleit of Kearney and Mike Hutchinson of Gibbon; grandchildren, Aubrey Callahan, Jayme, Jolynn, Brock, Tara and Jacob Broweleit; step children, Ben (Linda) Torres of Lexington, Tony ( Eva) Torres of Minden, Tomasa “Tomi” Torres-Fickler of Minden, Pastor Rick (Marlene) Torres of Denison, Iowa, Jesse (Daphney) Torres of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Bea (Roger) Wengler of Minden; several additional step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as, many nieces, nephews and host of friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Carl Broweleit and Benny Torres; grandsons, Justyn and Aaron Broweleit; brother, Don McCarty.
