October all ready?? How did that happen? But there aren’t many around that won’t be glad to see 2020 in the history book. It has been quite a year!
As dry as it is, the newly drilled wheat is coming up. Most of it. Sure hope we get some rain to keep it alive. The resulting dry fields are making it convenient for the harvesters. Lots of combines are rolling, but some are still idle, waiting for the corn to dry down. Not much is being said yet about yields.
Danbury alumni have been hit pretty hard in recent weeks. Those passing include Ivan Winters of the Class of 1954, Jean Lafferty Hunt and Viola Kelley
Jean Hunt, 93 died September 17, 2020. Graveside services were held on Sept. 21 in the Lebanon Cemetery. She was a 1945 graduate of Danbury High School. Her survivors include her children, Jerry, KayLynn and Jane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Hunt; children, James Hunt and Dorothy Lawver; and her siblings, Virgil, Cecil, Kenneth and Wayne Lafferty and Lois Myers. Her sister, Evelyn Stinnett, 91, died on September 22, the day after Jean’s burial.

Happy Birthday to Jodi (Blake) Shike on October 13th, Bev Haag, Shawn Gollehon, Bill Nicholson, Steve Nicholson and Taylor Blume on the 14th and Tina Rae on the 19th. Happy Anniversary to Dick and Claudia (Gotchall) Stanton on October 14th.
