JON F. WAHL
Jon F. Wahl, of Eustis, Nebraska, passed away at Cozad on September 2, 2026, at the age of 80.
Jon was born May 23, 1946, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Daniel and Louise (Ubele) Wahl. He graduated from Eustis High School in 1964 and later attended Kearney State College. In 1967, Jon was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Korea.
After his military service, Jon began farming north of Eustis at his home farm and at the Uebele Homestead Farm raising corn and soybeans. He successfully managed both farms until his passing.
Jon was member of the Eustis Lions Club and the Eustis America Legion. Jon enjoyed participating in the military honor guard at the funerals of veterans, honoring their service.
Jon was a good neighbor helping with butchering, sausage making. He visited the Eustis Library twice a week to check out new books and visit. Jon loved muscle cars and especially enjoyed his corvette which he took out on weekends. He also enjoyed NASCAR races and attend a few races in person. At family gatherings he enjoyed playing pitch.
Survivors include his sister DeeAnn (Oliver) Holbein of Cozad; 2 nieces and 2 nephews, 6 great-nieces, 2 greatnephews, and multiple great-great nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and infant sibling, and his sister Jane Wahl, who just passed one week earlier. Jon remained an active and supportive member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis until his passing.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Eustis East Cemetery, Eustis, Nebraska. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome. com. Memorials are suggested to Eustis Fire & Rescue. Berryman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
