Warriors, Trojans, Roughriders compete at Fran Jorgenson

CAMBRIDGE - With three individual champions, the Arapahoe wrestling team took third place at the Fran Jorgenson Invite in Cambridge Saturday.

The Warriors edged Cambridge by 1.5 points for third place, 111-109.5, while Southwest finished 14th with 35 points.

Arapahoe finished with four medalists at the meet, all of which reached the finals.

Levi Kerner (285) set a new school record as he picked up his 110th career pin on his was to pinning the tournament field and taking first place.

Ashton Downey (138) also finished first, pinning Loomis/Bertrand’s Clay Bohr in the finals.

Tristian White also took the title for Arapahoe at 152 pounds, earning a major decision over Twin Loup’s Archer Grint.

Bryann Conn finished runner-up for the Warriors at 132 pounds, falling by pin to Norton’s undefeated Kolton Field.

Cambridge had seven medalists on the day, led by a championship finish from Julien Grindle at 182 pounds.

The Trojans’ Tye Stanton finished second at 160, Angel Rodriguez (106), Dierks Sayer (126) and Matt Morgan (132) each finished third and Wyatt Ervin (182) and Jacob Corbett (138) both finished fourth.

Southwest finished with three medalists on the day as Mitchel Stritt (120) and Clayton Hardy (220) each finished third. Tyler Ellis also finished fourth at 152 pounds.
