The NAIA released volleyball player Lisa Lord of Indianola was among those named NAIA Scholar Athletes for the 2010 fall sports season.
Southwest 5th and 6th grade quiz bowl team placed 2nd in the Eustis-Farnam Quiz Bowl on December 8. Team members are: Stevie Wadle, Kayliegh Sughroue, Logan Greenlee, G O’Dea„ Drew Minard, Alec May, Wyatt McConville, Claire Rasmussen, Nick Lepper, and Lance Kelley.

Annalicia Chavez has been named Student of the Month for December at Republican Valley High School. She is the daughter of Robert and Marilea Chavez.
Red Willow County will honor the retiring commissioner, Eldon Moore of Bartley, at a reception Tuesday, December 26 and was honored for 32 years of service.

Gift certificates and prizes were given away at the first 1980 Christmas drawing Joellyn Davidson won the $20, Suzie Davidson claimed matching number for $10, Mrs. Don Reiners and Tammy Stewart each had turkeys.
Although not excited as bagging a doe with Bill Kruger of Indianola, was definitely the right to be proud of his 15 point downed by his black powder rifle.

Jim Waddell has made basketball squad at the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture of Curtis. Jim, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Waddell, Sr.
