Honor Society display items collected for the Adopt a Soldier program. Items will be boxed and sent to the seven soldiers that they have adopted.

Christina Delp of rural Smithfield joined the County Courthouse as the new soon-to-be Weed Superintendent.

Airman First Class James B. Kenning has been awarded “The Air Force Achievement Medal” by the department of the Air Force for Menuous Service February 19, 1999 to February 3, 2001.

Randy Lofquist earned a Best of Show with a bull Mylar balloon at the GFWC Craft Day held in Axtell. The balloon was made in Art 1 at Elwood High School and Mrs. Kim Eggers.

Seven youngsters enjoyed a morning of getting acquainted and visiting the school nurse on April 15 Kindergarten instructor Mrs. Tony Rieker stated the class would have twelve students next fall. Chelsea Bellamy, Sydney Cooksley, Chasity McNaily, Allyson Monter, Mark Weissert, Grant Schutz, and KaLyne Bennett.

The Elwood Lioness Club is now selling a variety of “GIANT” coloring storybooks as a fund raising activity.

Members of the Elwood Bulletin won over the weekend in Omaha were Betty Wonderly, Kate Barr, Lisa Gill, and Mary Umberger. This year the Bulletin received six awards including two first place, two second place, and two third place.

Two members of the Elwood FFA Chapter were recognized last Thursday in Lincoln at the 44 ^th annual Nebraska State FFA Convention for outstanding achievement Dale Foss and Dave Unterseher. Dale Foss received the State Farmer Degree and Dave Unterseher received State Agriculturist Degree.

Elwood High School track participants won the dual meet with St. Ann, 76-74 to a thrilling finish.
