After 35 years ago the late Aulis Zink made 3 rolling pins to be used in a Ladies Rolling Pin Throw Contest at Old Settlers. Stan Quigley has used those same rolling pin contest at Old Settlers ever since.

Three boys from Republican Valley attended the Huskerland State Wrestling Tournament at Lincoln on April 4, 1992. Travis Winters, fourth grader placed fourth; Lee McConville, fourth grader placed first and received a gold medal; and Dustin Winters, seventh grader placed fifth.
