Virginia L. Stuehm, 86 of Elwood, NE passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Elwood Care Center in Elwood, NE. Memorial services was held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Elwood United Methodist Church in Elwood, NE. Burial was held at Elwood Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Epilepsy Foundation. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Virginia was born June 24, 1934 in Gosper County, Nebraska to Fred and Mabel (Frazell) Lervig. She was raised in Elwood and was a graduate of Elwood High School. Following her graduation, Virginia worked at Clarks Variety Store. On July 18, 1954, Virginia was united in marriage to LaVerne Stuehm at the United Methodist Church in Smithfield, NE. The family made their home South of Elwood. In 1963, the family moved to the family farm where they farmed for many years. LaVerne and Virginia later owned and operated V & L Antiques.

Virginia enjoyed cooking, canning, and gardening. She loved doing crafts and searching for antiques.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Stuehm and wife, Michelle of Aurora, CO; daughters, Tami Wooden and husband, Robert of Kearney and Melissa Stuehm of Kearney; granddaughter, Jessica Lara and husband, Jose of Lexington; two great-granddaughters; sister, Shari Gauthier of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Katherine Stuehm of Holdrege; as well as, nephews and other extended family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and husband, LaVerne Stuehm.
