Glenda L. Walinder

Bridgeport, NE resident Glenda L. Walinder passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2023 in Bridgeport at the age of 68.

She was born May 12, 1954 in Fayetteville, AR the daughter of Keith K. and Edna I. (Clark) Watson.

On November 16, 1973 in Wichita, KS she was united in marriage to Michael L. Walinder.

Glenda’s biggest dream was in helping people. Whether it is in nursing or listening, she always had a special knack in helping others.

She was known as an excellent listener. People were able to open up to her when they were not able to others.

Glenda was also known for having a smile on her face and laughing. She always had a positive attitude and never complained.

While she worked in nursing for many years, she worked as a homemaker for the majority of her life. She loved crocheting, sewing, and knitting.

Survivors include her husband Mike of Bridgeport; daughters Angie Simmonds and husband Lonnie of Bridgeport, NE and Melissa C. Walinder of Fort Collins, CO; 3 grandchildren: Jeremy Simmonds of Imperial, NE, Kyle Simmonds of Curtis, NE, and Tami Kiser and husband Jon of Wray, CO; four greatgrandchildren; Emmah Kiser, Madisyn White, Railynn Kiser, and Kristin Kiser; a brother Larry Watson and wife Brenda of Springfield, MO; and a sister Freda Cornfield and husband Charles of Erie, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Kenneth Alan Watson in 1980.

Glenda will be missed by all who held her close in their hearts.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.

Burial followed in the Agra Cemetery, Agra, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
