ANGIE VARWIG

A Funeral Service for Angie Varwig will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Wes Hafner officiating. Burial will follow at the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Nebraska, at 3:30 p.m.

Angela Jo “Angie” Varwig, 52 years of age, of Holdrege, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Angie was born on May 25, 1969, in Holdrege, to Mick and Marlene (Johnson) Varwig. Angie was baptized on July 13, 1969 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford and later confirmed at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege. She received her education from Holdrege Public Schools, and graduated with the class of 1988. Following her graduation, she attended and graduated from Joseph’s College of Beauty.

Angie worked at several places in Holdrege. Angie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved animals, especially dogs. She also enjoyed listening to music.

Angie was preceded in death by her grandparents; and one step-brother, Craig Lueking.

Angie leaves to mourn her passing; her mother and step-father, Marlene and Clyde Lueking of Holdrege; her father, Mick Varwig of Oxford; step-sisters: Lisa (Lueking) Watson and her husband, Todd of rural Edison, Nebraska; and Shelby (Varwig) Veach and her husband, Jake of Newburg, Indiana; step-brother, Tyler Varwig and his wife, Kati of Lincoln, Nebraska; step-nieces: Mariah Watson; Ella and Mackie Varwig; and one on the way, Jemma Veach; step-nephews: Isaac Watson; Levi Watson; and Jagger Veach; along with many other relatives, and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Angie’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family.
