BONNIE C. RUYBALID
Celebration of Life Services for Bonnie C. Ruybalid will be held at a later date.
Bonnie Catherine Ruybalid, 74 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at her home in Holdrege. Bonnie and her twin brother, Ron were born on June 4, 1946, at Holdrege, to Gus Henry and Esther Catherine (Brand) Hall. Bonnie received her education from Bertrand Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1964. She then pursued higher education at Grand Island Business school in Grand Island, Nebraska, where she received her CPA degree.
Following her schooling, she was united in marriage to Gene Jordan. The couple resided in Oregon for many years, until Gene’s passing. Bonnie was then married to Lee Garrison and this marriage later ended in divorce.
On April 1, 1991, she was united in marriage to Eliud F. “Rube” Ruybalid. The couple made their home in Holdrege, where Bonnie was employed at various businesses. She then began a long career at the Holdrege Daily Citizen. On September 24, 2000, she was preceded in death Rube.
In Bonnie’s spare time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite sports teams on tv.
Besides her parents and her two husbands; she was preceded in death by; her son, John Garrison in infancy; step-son, Ray Ruybalid; great-grandson, Ian Fay; and great-nephew, Isaac Hall.
Bonnie leaves to celebrate her life; her two brothers: Jack Hall and his wife, Janet of Arizona City, Arizona; and her twin brother, Ron Hall and his wife, Candice of Omaha, Nebraska; one step-son, Lyle Ruybalid of Sugar Land, Texas; two step-daughters: Shelly Ruybalid and special friend, Jeff Bomstad of Littleton, Colorado; and Sherri Thomas and her husband, Mark of Beatrice, Nebraska; step-daughter-in-law; Karla Ruybalid of Funk, Nebraska; six stepgrandchildren: Courtney, Thaddeus, Stephanie, Kylee, Nicole, and Kyle; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial has been established in Bonnie’s honor and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
