CARLA L. THIEBEN
Carla Louellen Thieben beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in McCook. She was 86 years of age.
Carla was born on December 20, 1939, in Sterling CO to Carl and Fern (Stark) Randolph.
She graduated from Denver High School with the class of 1958. She married her sweetheart, Richard Lee Thieben on December 20, 1960, in Denver, CO; Carla and her beloved husband, Richard shared an enduring love that spanned 57 years. Carla embraced her role as a dedicated stay-at-home mom, nurturing her four children: Evelyn, Richard, Fern, and Carla, with the love and care that only a mother can provide while her husband served in the United States Navy for over 20 years.
After her husband retired from the Navy, the couple moved back to Oxford and eventually to McCook. Carla stepped into the professional world, where she attended McCook Community College and devoted over 40 years of her life serving the Lord by providing loving care to her residents as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Memorial Methodist Church and later the Living Church of God. Carla’s faith in Christ guided her every step, her life was a testament to her steadfast faith in the Lord’s word “those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength they will soar on wings like eagles.”
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard; her parents, Carl and Fern Randolph; brothers and sister, Charles, Lester and Becky; her in-laws, Arcle and Evelyn (Coady) Thieben; son-in-law, Brian Glasgow; daughterin- law, Barbara Thieben; brothers-in-law, Roland James “Bill” Thieben and Charles Thieben and nephew, Tracy (Toby) Thieben.
Carla is survived by her loving children: son, Richard Thieben of North Platte; daughters, Evelyn Baumann of Mc-Cook, Fern Glasgow of Cibolo, Texas and Carla Kychik of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her six grandchildren: Arnold Baumann (Amy), Nathan Baumann (Mandy), Chelsea Glasgow, Kaeleigh Kychik, Cassidy Thieben, and Johnathan Thieben; as well as four greatgrandchildren, Braxton, Blake, Jersey, and Titan; she is also survived by her sister, Willa Carmody; brother, Daniel Randolph; sisters in-law, Cheri Thieben and Linda Nothnagel (Bill); well as, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Her heart and selfless devotion were poured into her family, nature and her four loving cats, Tommy, Tucker, Boots and Fur Baby. Her memory will live on in the stories of the lives she touched throughout out her journey sharing her joyful spirit and her love in God’s word. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her husband Richard and other family members in heaven.
Cremation was chosen and services are pending at this time.
