A Funeral Service for Christopher L. Malone was held on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Harlan County Ag. Center in Orleans, Nebraska with Pastors Mike Hulinsky and Mark Gervais. Interment followed at the Orleans Cemetery in Orleans, Nebraska.

Christopher Lee Malone, 39 years of age, of Orleans, passed away on October 20, 2021, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska. Chris was born in Alma, Nebraska on January 26, 1982, the youngest of two children, born to Gerald and Judith (Gibson) Malone. He received his education and graduated from Southern Valley High School, with the class of 2000.

On March 30, 2001, Chris was united in marriage to Sarah Hulinsky in Kearney and to this union three children were born: Emily, Caleb, and Aiden. The couple made their home in Orleans. Together they enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and boating, and taking trips when they could slip away for a few days.

Chris enjoyed fishing and attending family reunions. He loved spending time with his children and was looking forward to meeting his granddaughter in January. Chris was involved at the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Chris was preceded in death by: his father, Gerald Malone; maternal and paternal grandparents: Leo and Virginia Gibson; Opal Smith and Willard Malone; sisters-in-law: Kathy Hulinsky; Angela Bradley; Amber Bradley; along with his aunts and uncles.

Chris is survived by his wife, Sarah Malone of Orleans; his three children: Emily Malone and her significant other, Peyton McMurtry of Kearney; Caleb Malone of Orleans; and Aiden Malone of Orleans; one granddaughter on the way; his mother, Judy Malone of Eustis, Nebraska; brother, Willie Malone of Grand Island, Nebraska; brothers-in-law: Mike Hulinsky and his wife, Chris of Le Mars, Iowa; Roger Hulinsky and his wife, Julie of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Jeremy Long of Washington DC; sister-in-law: Donna Koch and her husband, David of Garner, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

A visitation was held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma.

Chris was a great friend and will be missed by all.

A memorial has been established in Chris’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
