DIANE CHRISTENSEN
A Memorial Service for Diane Christensen was held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at the Alma Golf Course in Alma, Nebraska, with Pastor Jean Clayton officiating. An inurnment will be held at a future time at the Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, Nebraska. Diane Dee Christensen, 62 years of age, of rural Orleans, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Harlan County Health Systems in Alma. Diane was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 18, 1962, the eldest of four daughters born to Wayne and Katherine (Kersting) Roeder. She was welcomed home by three older siblings: Mike, Pat, and Allen. She received her primary education in Kearney and then completed her schooling at Orleans.
Diane was united in marriage to Randy Reynolds and they were blessed with a daughter, Katherine. They would later divorce and Diane married Steve Gardner and they were blessed with a son, Jesse. In 1999, Diane was united in marriage to Lee Christensen in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Diane enjoyed working, serving and socializing with friends at the cafe. She was a Nebraska Husker Football fan and enjoyed watching cooking shows. Diane and Lee enjoyed traveling.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Christensen; her parents: Wayne and Kathy Roeder; two siblings: Patricia Graf; and Mickeal Roeder; and step-son, Tyler Christensen.
Diane leaves to celebrate her life her children: Katy Shaw and her husband, Jay of Orleans; and Jesse Gardner of Long Island, Kansas; step-children: Jenae Batt and her husband, Matthew of St.
Paul, Minnesota; John Christensen and his wife, Sooki of Kansas City, Kansas; seven granddaughters: McKenna, Jacalynn, Elyria, Amanda, Stephanie, Eden, and Grace; and three grandsons: Emory, Wyatt, and Marshall; siblings: Allen Roeder and his wife, Rita of Lincoln, Nebraska; Deb Evans and her husband, Louis of Phillipsburg, Kansas; Judy Bose and her husband, Chuck of Orleans; and Vicky Graff and her husband, Richard of Orleans; two sisters-in-law: Jean Clayton and husband, Jim of Holdrege; and Chris Roeder of Oxford, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial book will be available to sign at KJ’s Café, if you are unable to attend the memorial service on Saturday afternoon. The family has honored her wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Diane’s honor and kindly suggested to the Orleans Fire Department.
