D’Maris Schoenberg

D’Maris Schoneberg, age 79, formerly of Orleans, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, at the Arbor Center, Franklin, Nebraska. She was born July 5, 1946 in Gary, Indiana to Ralph & Beulah (Morton) Stewart.

D’Maris graduated from Middletown High School in Indiana in 1964. She met Ron Schoneberg from Orleans, Nebraska at the World’s Fair in New York City in 1964, they fell in love and united in marriage on June 9th, 1966 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

She attended Indiana University for 2 ½ years, then transferred to the University of Nebraska and completed her degree in education.

They moved to Illinois in 1969, where she taught school in Grayslake, Illinois. The family moved to Orleans in 1980 where she continued teaching for 38 years, retiring in 2007.

Preceding her in death is her husband of 50 years Ron Schoneberg, brother James (Jim) Stewart, parents Ralph and Beulah She is survived by her son: Ronald Mark and Odessa Schoneberg of Hickman, Nebraska, daughter Michelle Harsh of Alma, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren: Autumn & Chance Schoneberg, Ethan Harsh, and Ashton Schoneberg, 3 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; sister Voneta (Bob) Adams, brother Ralph (Bill) Stewart of Indiana, sisters-in-law: Sandra McManus and Bonnie Phinney of Washington.

No viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen. Rosary will be Monday, December 1, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orleans, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 1, 2025, at 11 AM at St.

Mary’s Catholic Church in Orleans, Nebraska.

Inurnment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska.
