DONNA M. MAASKE
Memorial Services for Donna M. Maaske will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, NE with Pastor Murray Jones officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in rural Gosper County, NE.
Donna Maria (Littrell) Maaske, 74 years of age, of Holdrege, NE, passed away on Saturday, May 1 at the UNMC Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, following a battle with Breast Cancer. Donna was born on January 25, 1947, to George Lawrence Ellsworth and Genevieve Catherine (Smith) Littrell, in Holdrege. Donna was the oldest of seven children. Donna received her education from Alma Public Schools and later attended and graduated from Phillipsburg High School.
Donna was united in marriage to Everett Hunter. The couple made their home in Holdrege where they were blessed with two sons: Travis and David. The marriage later ended in divorce.
She was united in marriage to K. Robert Maaske. To this marriage one son was born: Joshua Cody who passed away at birth. The couple moved around and lived in several locations in CO, NM and eventually made their home in McCook, NE. One of her greatest memories was living in a tent for several months in the mountains of Colorado. While the family lived in McCook Donna worked as a bookkeeper at a few companies and managed Old Sarges Bar. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Donna enjoyed garage sales and animals. She especially loved her dog Daisy Louise who passed away just a few days before Donna. She enjoyed attending her grandkids activities. She was a long-time member of the Eagles.
Donna was preceded in death by: her parents; one son, Joshua Cody Maaske; one brother, Darrell Bohl; one sister, Barb Russell.
Donna is survived by her sons: David Hunter of Holdrege; Travis Hunter and his wife, Michelle of Holdrege; 11 grandchildren: Christopher Springer; Brandon Woldt and wife, Audrie; Patrick McGee and wife, Erica; Shaina Wood and husband, Damien; Aaron Hunter; Josiah Hunter; Matthias Hunter; McKenna Hunter and fiancé, Cameron; Maxwell Hunter; Amelia Hunter; and Alivia Hunter; Great-Grandchildren: Anna Wood; Pepper McGee; and three on the way; Siblings: Lloyd Littrell and wife, Joyce of Beloit, KS; Eddie Bohl of Faucett, MO; Gary Littrell and wife, Peggy of Phillipsburg, KS; Dianne Johnson of Hays, KS; Brother-in-law, Ralph Russell of Phillipsburg, KS; along with a host of extended family and friends.
Memorial book signing will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Donna’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
